Will called meeting to order at 7:15 PM.
Block Party
Will does not have total spending tallied up yet.
Will made executive decision to buy $112 signs. They are reusable. Consensus is that the signs had a good impact.
Discussion that we should have done a second flyer. Most who came did so because of the flyer.
$65 spent at Jerry’s on Henderson for pico (lots left over), 2 pots of beans (all eaten), rice (some left over). A deal was arranged in advance.
Next year: allow sponsorship? Hire someone for $10/hr to serve? Hire a cook? Probably need 3 cooks. Do raffle.
5 new, 4 renewal memberships, so $204 taken in (or net loss of about $300 not counting signs or overages)
Membership
Plan discussed to send SASE to nonmember homes. Will offer $25 membership: $5 for remainder of year and $20 for next year, so $25 will make them current through April 2006.
Board authorized $120 for this task by consensus.
Beautification
Galway Circle tasks:
Crime watch signs to be ordered by Andrea. Board authorized $160 for this by consensus.
Fall Picnic
Burgers and hot dogs again.
Hit up Albertsons for donations.
Will need to look for bounce house.
Bridget will lead up picnic organization, Andrea will assist.
$346.44 was spent on picnic last year.
It should be noted that nobody donated for summer bash/block party expenses, so picnic should be less expensive.
Home Tour
Christmas home tour.
Suggested that we keep it simple in the first year, 4-6 houses.
Need volunteers for each house to watch everything.
Created committee, Suzy Himes (sp?) leading it.
Hold it on Dec. 5, 1 PM – 4 PM.
Need to make sure “Big Forest Hills” isn’t doing it that weekend.
Put flyer for home tour in membership drive flyer.
